EU Ambassador to Yemen Hans Grundberg presents his credentials to President Hadi


  Today, the new European Union EU ambassador to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, presented his credentials to President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, as ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Yemen.
A statement from the Union Mission to Yemen, Nashwan News obtained a copy of, that Ambassador Grundberg has a long experience in both the Swedish Foreign Ministry and the European Union's Foreign Affairs Authority.
He also held several diplomatic positions in Stockholm, Brussels and the Middle East, including European Union missions in Cairo and Jerusalem. Prior to his appointment to this position, Ambassador Grundberg worked as Head of the Gulf Department at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Grundberg said on the occasion, "It is a great honor for me to contribute to strengthening the European Union's relations with Yemen and its people. I look forward to our continued active engagement with the Yemeni government and all Yemeni actors at all levels".
"Our focus will continue to be on helping alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, especially at these critical times. We will also continue to encourage Yemenis to come closer and make concessions to find a comprehensive political settlement to the Yemeni crisis. ”
He concluded, "To this end, we will work closely with our partners and the United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths".

Grundberg visited, along with other ambassadors, both Sana'a and Aden and met with government officials as well as with officials from the Houthi government.
