Exclusive: Warning of a fraudulent ad on Facebook claiming AI
Software experts have warned of a fraudulent ad being displayed on Facebook that claims to offer the Gemini AI program, through a file that is downloaded to the computer (desktop)
The experts of Nashwan News explained that the ad that was monitored from a page called gemini ai, is a sponsored ad that includes information that the Gemini Ultra AI version is 2500 times smarter than Bard, ChatGPT-4, and others.
After examining the link in the ad, it leads to a download page for a fraudulent file that claims to be the Gemini program that is installed on the computer. However, the file is actually a virus file that can damage the device or steal user data.
The experts of Nashwan News called on users to be careful of this ad, and not to open the link in it. They also called on users to report the ad to Facebook.
Note:
One of the most important indicators of the fraudulent program is that it does not lead to the link to the original Gemini website or any Google websites.
Experts say that the scam has previously been advertised through Facebook, about the ChatGPT-5 version, claiming that it is 1700 times smarter than the current ChatGPT.
Here are some tips to help protect yourself from online fraud:
- Be skeptical of any ad that seems too good to be true.
- Check the original source of information before sharing it.
- Look for warning signs, such as the use of images or videos created by AI.
- Do not open links from unknown sources.
- Install and update your antivirus software regularly.
