Yemen's National Resistance aired confessions of a Houthi smuggling cell admitting to smuggling Iranian drone gear and deceiving US forces, as the navy buried three sailors.

The military media of the National Resistance Forces in Yemen broadcast today the confessions of what it described as a Houthi smuggling cell that was recently apprehended while attempting to smuggle equipment for Iranian drones to the Houthis.

According to the cell's confessions, its members managed to deceive US naval forces regarding one of their shipments, before they were arrested in another operation and later released as part of a prisoner exchange.

The National Resistance's military media stated that the video-recorded confessions of the two cell operatives, Abdullah Qumairi and Waleed Saleel, revealed an upcoming operational plan by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeting international shipping lanes.

The two operatives admitted to direct dealings with IRGC officers in managing the latest arms shipment, which was intercepted in the high seas of the Red Sea. The shipment contained high-precision technical equipment and devices intended to equip and enhance the effectiveness of explosive-laden suicide boats.

The Yemeni navy recently seized a shipment of Iranian drone equipment that was en route to the Houthis. There was no immediate comment from the latter.

In a related context, the naval forces today held funerals for three of their members who were martyred in battles over the past few days in the Red Sea, which were fought to secure Yemeni territorial waters and protect the coasts.

The three martyrs are: Abdo Ali Salem Al-Sheikh Al-Ma'amari, martyr Abdulqader Mohammed Awad Saleh Qulailah, and martyr Imran Thabet Hassan Kulaib Maghur. Official and popular funeral ceremonies were held, during which their bodies were draped in the republican flag and carried on the shoulders of honor guards, "in recognition of their heroic roles and the epic feats they wrote alongside their comrades and brothers-in-arms in the national naval battle against the Iranian project and its tools," according to the source.
